From the region for the region

One of our passions

It is sometimes said that 'beer needs a home', and this is certainly a philosophy we support through our various commitments to social, cultural, and sporting initiatives in our local community.

This is our way of acknowledging our roots and reaffirming the connection we share with the people from our locality. Our home region can only prosper if we all pull together. We also take seriously our responsibility as an employer in the region, as well as maintaining fair relationships with our suppliers, who we like to treat as partners.

From the region for the region

We certainly live up to this motto in what we do. With one eye on the future, we facilitate new encounters and promote healthy competition. We are also committed through our beer culture, which is very much related to our home region, to preserving traditional values and customs. The kinds of customs that can be so enjoyable and life-affirming.

We support lots of associations in the region, as well as efforts to preserve brewing culture and customs. This includes organising and running the cross-seasonal Kulmbacher Beer Week, which attracts up to 120,000 visitors to Kulmbach, from near and far.

We actively keep customs alive

  • We support the work of the Kulmbacher Büttnerverein (a folk association concerned with traditional barrel making), which was founded more than 250 years ago.
  • And with our linden tree campaign, we are committed to replanting and maintaining the stock of linden trees found in our home region. This will ensure future generations can enjoy a 'dance under the lindens' too. A nice tradition, but one which has become less common.
  • In terms of the various customs associated with celebrations to mark the local church's anniversary (known as the 'Kerwa' or 'Kirmes', or more formally the 'Kirchweih') and other pastoral festivals, we are constantly striving to preserve old traditions and time-honoured values.

We provide support for a large number of traditional festivals, such as:

  • The Kiliani festival in Würzburg
  • The week-long Spessart festival in Lohr am Main
  • The Schlappentag event in Hof
  • The Spitzenfest festival in Plauen

Our support for sport and exercise

For us, a vibrant connection with our home region also includes a wide-ranging commitment to both mass-participation and elite sport.

  • We have been a partner for over 10 years of the football club 1. FC Nürnberg – through both good times and bad.
  • We support the commitment shown by many volunteers in the region by sponsoring over 300 sports associations and various sporting events.

Bringing brewing culture to life

We are rather proud of the Bavarian Museum of Brewing within the historic walls of the Mönchshof site, with its 'glass brewery' and the 'MUPÄZ' Museumspädagogisches Zentrum (museum and educational centre). From the history of beer to the practical aspects of a healthy diet, visitors learn a lot worth knowing about all the things they can enjoy.

Our commitment to the good of society

In recent years, we have encouraged over 30,000 participants to get involved in the 'Zamm‘ geht’s' voluntary work campaign in Franconia and the similar 'Zusammen geht es besser' campaign in Saxony. On our behalf, they all mucked in to clear up play areas and help get them shipshape.
